A Performance Evaluation

Dear Sweet Pea,
I appreciate you letting me sleep in 'til 8:30 this morning. It was a real treat. However, this business of staying awake from 12:30 am to 1:30 am is unacceptable. The first 5 months of your post-utero existence were peaceful and restful. You slept well, ate well, and did not ask for much. In return, I promptly cuddled you, sang to you, and played with you. It seems as though your performance level has gone down despite the rewards which I have granted you. Here are a few pointers to help you get back on track:
  • As much as I love to cuddle you and rock you to sleep, it is recommended that you learn to sooth yourself to sleep as you once did.
  • Learn what sleeping position suits you best. I have noticed that you prefer to sleep on your tummy. If you would like to sleep in that position all night, then don't roll over to your back and proceed to pretend to not know how to roll back over.
  • If by chance you do sleep through the night, please wait until at least 7 am to wake up for the day. I do enjoy hearing you coo, laugh and scratch the sides of your pack n' play in the morning, however, I will love it just as much if you were willing to wait at least another hour to do so. I am in no rush, please, take your time.
These are just a few suggestions you are welcome to use, or come up with a few on your own. Trust me, in the end, this will make both of us happy in the long run. :)

Love,
Mom
